Artist Statement
"When painting, I usually start with an abstract feeling I want to express and a few colours I love. I'm still teaching myself to not overworking the paint with my intentions of how it 'should' look and give back the control to the paint. Put the paint down and let it be, exactly as it is. There are no mistakes in art! Every stroke has a purpose. Every colour has a feeling and finding ways to connect that all together is what I'm aiming for. I'm consciously trying to let go of what I want the canvas to become and allow it to evolve naturally. When I start painting a leaf shape and it becomes a fish - that is okay. It was meant to be a fish! Painting teaches me a lot - patience, and letting go."
