A self taught artist, born an raised in Victoria BC, Norene has been
focusing her artistic career talents on drawing and painting since
her early teens. It wasn't until she moved to the mountains and then
Mt. Robson, soon after being married, that the inspiration to capture
the beauty around her became a constant focus. She persisted to paint
at home, dispite work and children, setting up in the kitchen and
working long into the winter nights.
Her commisioned works are now found in the United States, the UK and
Australia as well Canada. She has exibited in group shows in Victoria,
Prince George and Jasper in recent years. A donated painting commemorating
the 75th anniversary of Mt. Robson Park, is displayed in the Mt. Robson
Information Center.
She works now in her studio and continues to create with the passion
she feels for her surroundings and the environment.
Picasso is quoted: "Art washes away from the soul - the dust
of everyday life."
