"As an artist I want to capture real life images in an abstract way. I attempt to expose the viewer to an array of emotions, through the use of colour, texture and a variety of techniques. I try to portray an object from the inside. Subjects can be abstract to begin with, such as musical forms in my “baroque series” or the “life line” series. Subjects can be concrete also. You will find that in my “portraits” and “Mountain” series, to name just a few examples.

The world exists of shapes we can recognize (for example a house, a tree, a human being, a beautiful landscape). In many art forms, the concrete picture of these shapes evoke a certain emotion. In my paintings I try to portray those same shapes and pictures, but I attempt to expose the viewer directly to the emotion, bypassing the recognizable shape.

I want my works to compliment other art forms as well. I have, for example, combined my works with live classical music on numerous occasions. I have involved live theatre in exhibitions also, where I was personally involved in the choreography. I am currently working closely with Edmonton composer George Andrix to collaborate on a production of music and my art work.

It is important to me, through my paintings, to interact with other people. I cherish working with and learning from both art lovers and artists. Therefore, to be able to exhibit my paintings is very important to me. I find these exhibitions a perfect place to share and discuss art. There is a portion of education as well as sharing behind all this".
